Laborer NA-01 [Italy]


 

Duties

  • Opens and unpacks cartons of materials and removes contents. Moves or uses hand truck to move various items requiring delivery or storage. Sets up and breaks down multi-functional areas. Arranges mobile furniture, movable walls, light equipment, etc.
  • Polices assigned areas, collects and disposes of trash and debris, cuts grass and pulls weeds, waters grass and flower beds, spreads mulch, and rakes leaves. Shovels snow and puts down salt.
  • Washes and waxes vehicles
  • Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs and waxes floors. Uses industrial household cleaners to clean, disinfect and deodorize windows, mirrors, fixtures, and facilities.
  • Replenishes supplies as necessary. Reports facility condition to supervisor including the need for repairs. Dusts and polishes furniture. Empties trash

  • Requires light to moderate lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 30 pounds and occasionally 45 pounds. Required to stand, walk, bend and kneel for lengthy periods of time.
  • Works indoors and outdoors. May be exposed to adverse weather conditions when working outdoors.
  • Exposed to drafts, noise, dust, and dirt. Possibility of bruises, muscle strains, cuts and scrapes.
  • Required to follow safety procedures and use standard safety equipment such as gloves, ear protectors, and safety glasses to avoid possible hazards in the work area.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a medical examination.
  • Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions.
  • Rotating Schedule. Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

Ability to understand and follow simple instructions and be able to use hand tools for cleaning and operating simple machines.

Skill and Knowledge:

Must have skill and knowledge to perform tasks involving several procedures and be able to concentrate on work assignments despite interruptions and distractions.
A working knowledge of sanitation standards is required as well as knowledge of procedures to prevent contamination.
Must know basic food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards and safe work procedures.
Must have the ability to read and understand written material.
Must have knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals, such as counting the number of tables in order to determine the number of portions or meals required, or how many servings a particular container will yield.
